Vanderhall North America LLC, of Provo, Utah, is recalling all Model Year 2024-2026 Brawley GTS Electric Recreational Off-road Vehicles because the seat belts can permanently lock up in the fully retracted position, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. If that happens, consumers would be unable to reset the seat belt and put it on while the vehicle is operating, posing injury and crash hazards.
The recall covers about 190 vehicles. VINs range from XXXXXXXXXXX005927 to XXXXXXXXXXX005990 for 2024 models, XXXXXXXXXXX005992 to XXXXXXXXXXX006074 for 2025 models, and XXXXXXXXXXX006077 to XXXXXXXXXXX006152 for 2026 models. The VIN is located under the dashboard on the driver's side. The vehicles were sold in Ivory White, Obsidian Black, Royal Blue, Ida Rose, Bosco Blue, Atomic Green, Rossa, Jean Gray and Emerald Green Metallic colors, with the Vanderhall logo at the bottom of each door.
According to the CPSC, the vehicles were sold at Vanderhall dealers in Utah, Ohio, Michigan, Texas, Montana, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Arizona from April 2024 to June 2026 for about $50,000. Vanderhall has received 11 reports of the seat belt locking up, the agency said. No injuries have been reported.
The CPSC said consumers should stop using the recalled vehicles immediately and contact an authorized Vanderhall dealer to schedule a free repair. A technician will install an insert into the seat belt guide slot on each seat to reduce the speed the seat belt retracts, preventing the lockup.
